You deserve a guide who understands what you're facing—someone who can help your loved one find comfort while giving you the support you need to be fully present for what matters most.
We get it, and we’re here to help.
Individualized Hospice Care That Puts Your Family First.
Our founders, Susan Taba and Michelle Teter, DNP, FNP-BC, have decades of combined healthcare experience. But they didn't start Lotus Blossom Hospice just because they knew the industry—they started it because they witnessed families falling through the cracks at larger companies
Patients calling after hours who couldn't get a nurse to visit. Families treated like numbers in a corporate system. Care decisions delayed by red tape.
Both Susan and Michelle have also lost their own parents. They understand the weight of these decisions, the fear of getting it wrong, and the deep desire to honor your loved one with dignity.
This isn't just business to them—it's a calling.
Here’s What Makes Lotus Blossom Different:

3. Create a Personalized Care Plan for Your Family
Once you decide to move forward, we develop a care plan tailored specifically to your loved one's needs and your family's wishes. We coordinate every aspect of care—nursing visits, personal care assistance, spiritual support, medications, equipment, and more—so you can focus on what matters most: being present with your loved one.
Comfort. Dignity. Peace of Mind.
For Your Loved One:
Physical Comfort - Pain and symptoms are expertly managed by our physicians, nurse practitioners, and skilled nurses. Your loved one experiences relief, not suffering.
Familiar Surroundings - They remain in the place they call home, surrounded by the people, belongings, and routines that bring comfort.
Dignity & Autonomy - Their personal wishes, values, and preferences guide every care decision. We adapt to them; they don't have to adapt to us.
Spiritual Peace - Our chaplains and rabbi provide support that aligns with your loved one's beliefs and traditions, helping them find peace in their own way.
Quality Days - Whether it's enjoying favorite foods without restriction, spending time with a beloved pet, or simply sitting in the garden—we focus on what makes each day meaningful.
For You and Your Family:
You're Not Alone - You have 24/7 access to our clinical team. Someone always answers when you call, and nurses come when you need them—even at 2 AM when crisis strikes.
You Know What to Expect - Through education about disease progression, we help you understand what's normal, what's concerning, and what's coming next.
The Burden Is Shared - We handle the medical care, the equipment, the medications, the coordination. You handle the loving presence—because that's the part only you can do.
Your Questions Are Answered - From "Can he still have ice cream?" to "How will we know when it's time?" to "What do we do if...?"—we're here with answers, guidance, and reassurance.
Time to Say Goodbye - Because we often begin care earlier than traditional hospice (we encourage early enrollment), families get weeks or months instead of just days. Time to have important conversations, resolve old conflicts, share memories, and say the things that need to be said.
No Regrets - You'll know you did everything you could. You honored your loved one's wishes. You kept them comfortable. You were present for what mattered.
Did You Know?
Some patients actually improve with hospice care. When pain is well-managed, when they're eating better because nausea is controlled, when they have regular support and aren't stressed about hospital trips—sometimes patients stabilize or even improve enough to graduate back to palliative care.
Hospice isn't an ending—it's about ensuring quality of life for however long that journey takes. What matters most is comfort, dignity, and making each day as meaningful and peaceful as possible.
Quick Answers To Common Questions
-
Generally, hospice is appropriate when a physician determines that a patient has a life expectancy of six months or less if the disease follows its natural course. But qualifying doesn't mean your loved one is bedridden—many people wait too long because they don't realize they qualify. When you call us, we'll help you understand eligibility with no pressure and no obligation.

-
Yes. We can begin services within hours of your call when care is needed right away.
-
Hospice care is fully covered by Medicare Part A as a benefit your loved one has already earned. There is no cost for nursing care, medications, equipment, or support services. We also work with the VA for veterans' benefits.
-
No—this is a common misconception. We provide hospice care wherever your loved one calls home: their own house, an assisted living facility, a personal care home, even a relative's home. We come to them.
-
Both improve quality of life, but palliative care is for serious illness at any stage (alongside curative treatments), while hospice is for terminal illness when comfort becomes the priority. Palliative care is often the bridge to hospice.
